After the first semester of Mudbox’s 3D drawing practice, I understood what UV is and the importance of UV. UV is the coordinates of the mapping relationship of the texture. The accurate control of the texture mapping must be attached to the surface of the model. UV mapping is widely used in the fields of games, movies, and animation.
Among them, there are 3 points that need special attention:
1) The first quadrant space of UV is a 0-1 square. Therefore, the ratio of texture resolution is always 1:1.
2) UV generally avoids overlap, but when there is overlap, overlap will cause the same texture to adhere.
3) Generally, the distribution of UV should not exceed the first quadrant of 0-1, if it exceeds, it will form a tiling effect and form a duplication.
